HOT ! Michael Graves for Swid Powell

Perhaps Michael Graves' (1934-2015) most well-known design for Swid Powell, the Dripper series (1986) produced two sizes of a coffee pot born from Graves' preference for drip coffee and a lack of available drip coffee makers that met his aesthetic standards. This set is the sugar pot and creamer from that line, which features a high gloss white glaze with gold decoration and a brick red base. Examples of this stunning post modernism design can be found in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the RISD Museum, and the Yale University Art Gallery, In very good vintage condition with very little sign of wear. Signed on underside with "Said Powell" and Graves' signature. Includes creamer, sugar pot, and lid with spherical gold handle, but is missing the ceramic sugar spoon Creamer is 5.75" x 3.5" x 3.5" Sugar is 3.5" x 3.75" x 4.5"
